Big thoughts

Sometimes, when I am walking and I am not thinking anything specific, my mind floods with things to contemplate.  Some of the thoughts bandying about in my skull this morning were: nature vs. nurture and the things people say, stupid or otherwise, about that; whether each different culture has a different genetic map that lead to preferences, skills, and behaviours and whether denying some of the things that have come from millennia of cultural evolution lead to some of the societal issues that we see the world over; why in the education system things are separated out into subjects when almost everything interacts with everything else; why do we, in our society, condition our children not to question what they see, hear, and are told?   I rarely come to any conclusion on the things that clamour around in my head.  Sometimes the ideas end up interconnecting, but frequently they are just random bits.   The ideas add to my other contemplation about whether the brain is ever idle.
